Motorised and Robotic Total Stations for Surveyors

When earning your bread as a Surveyor, this is the greatest thing since sliced bread - by miles !

Sokkia's new SRX Total Station is available in 'Motorised' as well as 'fully Robotic' configurations. Click for definitions.
The SRX is available in 1", 2", 3" and 5" angular accuracy models - but there's so much to tell on this machine:

  • Entirely new designed instrument
Incorporates Auto Tracking functionality as well as a host of new or improved technologies. runs on Windows CE, backlit keyboard, USB and CF ports, conventional serial port too, a balanced read key, crisp colour touchscreen

  • Completely cable-free, integrated Remote Control

  • New 'RED-tech EX'  EDM:  incredibly, yet again  improved distance measurement : better range, up to 500 meter, better accuracy, even on short distances and adaptable beam diameter: the narrowest beam when you need it, not the narrowest beam when you don't!

  • New IACS encoder system makes very high angular accuracy more reliable than ever before
and it can do an auto-calibration on its own

  • On-demand Remote Control System for finding the correct prism - fast!
Picks up the prism rather than the traffic reflector you're standing next to... And it knows which way is the short way to turn when you've been out of sight.

  • Use with Sokkia's standard AP01 prism, sheet targets or the Sokkia ATP1 360° prism.
Yes- finally a 360° prism that is accurate!

Robotic Total Stations can not only improve your productivity dramatically, but they can also reduce the operator cost significantly when used as a one-man system.

  • Motorised means that the instrument can turn using its own motors rather than being turned by an operator.
  • Target Recognition takes the operator's strain out of pointing the instrument exactly towards the target: just point the instrument in the general direction of the prism and the Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) will sight the target accurately and take the shot.
  • Auto Tracking means that the instrument will automatically and continuously follow a prism as it moves - a must for stake-out
  • Remotocatcher is Sokkia's name for a clever device at the prism side for finding the right target quickly and securely

A 'Motorised' Total Station typically includes both the motorised and the target recognition functionality.

A 'full Robotic Total Station' includes all of the above features, plus radio communication and a controller (data-logger) to run the system from the prism end.
